When Rand is practicing the sword with Lan and gets knocked down by the wind this is actually one of the first bubbles of evil. This fact was confirmed by Jordan in an interview. affraid

Wow, that's interesting. Lan's lessons are phenomenal. Great writing by Jordan. I'll analyze it when I get there.
