Prologue: In the Shadow Empty Prologue: In the Shadow

This is exactly why Robert Jordan sucks you in. The novel begins with a meeting between darkfriends and Ishamael. Right off the bat we're shown that darkfriends can come from any land or be any social rank. Nobility and perhaps royalty are represented. We're also shown that Ishamael is alive, though horribly wounded. "The man named Bors" is a Questioner for the Children of the Light but I cannot remember if he's important to the story. Does he ever show up again?

The one darkfriend that really made my blood boil was the warrior from Shienar. It probably stems from the fact that Shienar is my favorite place, but this man was raised to fight the Shadow and now he walks amongst it. Sickening.

Prologue: In the Shadow Empty Bors ***SPOILERS***

Post  The_Dark_1 Sat Jun 27, 2009 1:48 am

***SPOILERS*** Bors is really Jaichim Carridin. He is in most of the books but he is dead now. As for the Shienaran at the Darkfriend sock hop, I believe that was Ingtar. He is the one who turns out to be a darkfriend at the end of the book. Then redeems himself like Vader in Jedi. In case you were wondering, YES, I did just reference Darth Vader and a sock hop in the same post. BEST POST EVER! cheers cheers

Ah yes, now that you remind me I remember now. I've been using Encyclopedia WoT very often--they have an amazing cross reference of 1,880 named characters. Now that's epic. Here's a link to the character's section.http://encyclopaedia-wot.org/characters/index.html

Dark_One, could you add a "spoiler" tag to your reply? There are a couple of people who are reading the series for the first time here. Actually, wait, I' believe I have the power to do that. Let's see...*channeling*. Voila!

Prologue: In the Shadow Empty Bors

Post  StephEN Fri Aug 21, 2009 10:00 pm

Did I meet Bors in this book? He wasn't even in this book was he. Well now I know who he's gonna be. But that's okay, I'm sure giving away one character out of so many is not a problem. And yea, I like that so many different people were there, especially the confirmation on Black Aes Sedai existing. Now THAT is sickening.

Bors is in the prologue of book 3 I believe. He's a darkfriend. You will see.
